The Taipei Forum on Sustainable Manufacturing brings together young innovators, industry leaders, and policy thinkers to explore how manufacturing can drive meaningful change for a sustainable future. Designed as a platform for youth engagement and leadership development, the forum empowers the next generation to connect ideas with action, and shape more responsible, resilient production systems. It is a bold step toward global impact—rooted in the spirit and leadership of Taipei.

Highlights 

Global Youth Engagement

Meet delegates from over 40 countries at the Youth Summit on Sustainability—a vibrant, intercultural dialogue shaping the future of manufacturing and global development.

6-Minute Impact Action Presentations

100 selected youth teams (40 high schoolers and 60 university/graduate young fellows) will each deliver a 6-minute pitch showcasing real-world sustainability initiatives and bold ideas for impact. Presentations will take place in 10 breakout rooms, fostering peer learning and collaboration.

SDG Innovation Workshops

Dive deep into the challenges and solutions of sustainable manufacturing through interactive topic-based workshops, co-led by experts, mentors, and industry partners.

2030 SDGs Simulation Game (tentative)

A hands-on SDGs Game simulation to help participants grasp the complexity of systems thinking and the importance of collaborative action—designed to inspire long-term change.

SDGs Business Idea Hackathon: Demo Day

Top youth-led teams will pitch their sustainable business models in front of an international panel of judges and mentors—from social impact investors to corporate sustainability leaders.

Gala Dinner & Fireside Talks

Celebrate with global peers and distinguished guests at the evening Gala Dinner, featuring short keynote insights from invited leaders in sustainability, policy, and innovation.

Youth Night & Taipei Youth Declaration

End the day with Youth Night, where delegates take the stage for a relay reading of the Taipei Youth Declaration, followed by country-by-country reflections on youth leadership and sustainable futures.

Overview

Eligibility & Participant Categories

University/Graduate-Level Representatives: Youth representatives from 30+ countries, each specializing in one of the 17 SDGs.

High School Participants: Selected students from Asia-Pacific countries engaging in SDG-related activities.

Location

August 2- 3: National Taipei University of Technology (No. 1, Sec. 3, Zhongxiao E. Rd., Taipei)

August 4- 5: National Central University (No. 300, Zhongda Rd., Zhongli District, Taoyuan)

Registration Fee

  • Application Review Fee: USD $20 per person
    This is a non-refundable fee for application screening and selection.

  • Program Participation Fee: USD $100 per person
    This fee is applicable only after selection. It includes meals during the program.
    Please note: Accommodation is not included and should be arranged at your own expense.

After passing the selection process, participants will receive an official digital Certificate of Acceptance and Invitation Letter, along with further instructions for completing the payment.

Projected Outcomes

  • The Taipei Youth Declaration: A multilingual relay reading by youth delegates from 40+ countries, capturing shared commitments to sustainability, inclusion, and action.

  • Impact Action Showcase: Publication of an eBook and multimedia album featuring selected "6-minute Impact Action" presentations from over 100 youth teams, highlighting their community-based SDG solutions.

  • Hackathon Prototypes & SDG Business Models: Innovative ideas co-created during the SDGs Biz Idea Hack, with top teams pitching scalable, sustainability-driven business models to expert panels.

  • The Solution Book: Global Youth Solutions for 2030 (in development)A policy- and action-oriented publication showcasing co-created solutions from the forum, aimed at corporate and public stakeholders.

  • Forum Impact Report for COP30: A comprehensive forum summary and youth input document to be presented as part of the Taiwan Youth Voice leading to COP30.
